Abstract

“Sometimes exploring the spirit is more interesting when you strip away everything but the simplest form. Can you still express the life within without the ability to identify the specifics of the lifeform?”

Abstract

“My abstract forms are created by first making a soft armature out of lycra and vermiculite. I then wrap the armature in clay and refine the shape. The beauty of a flexible armature is that I can get a more fluid shape by moving the form with the clay on it. Once bisqued, the piece is finished in oxides and/or terra sigillata and fired.”
